TinyGuard vs SafelyYou

AI fall point-platform
vs. full operator dashboard.

SafelyYou Halo is the leading AI fall-detection platform — NIH-funded, 40% fewer falls and up to 80% fewer fall-related ER visits at adopting communities. Their move to Halo means they're competing for operator-level platform budget, not just point-safety budget. TinyGuard is the full operator dashboard: EVV billing (optional add-on), family video access, care-plan documentation, HIPAA BAA, and the same kind of vision-AI for the safety layer — on a Pi on your network.

01
EVV + billing + care plans, not just safety
SafelyYou Halo is safety + ambient care. It does not handle EVV (Medicaid 21st Century Cures Act), tuition / private-pay billing, care-plan documentation, family communication, or staff scheduling. Communities adopting Halo still run PointClickCare / WellSky / HHAeXchange alongside. TinyGuard is the operator dashboard those communities are paying for separately — EVV as an add-on, billing, and care plans included in the base.
02
Your video stays on your Pi
SafelyYou processes every room's video on their cloud. TinyGuard processes and records on a Pi you own — live video never leaves your building; the only persistent video is the in-room Pi (incident footage) + opt-in plan-tiered cloud archive when your community enables it. For HIPAA risk officers and family-trust marketing, this is a procurement difference.
03
Family video access is in the box
Halo focuses on staff/operator surfaces — fall detection, eCall, ambient care insights. Family-facing video is not a Halo feature. TinyGuard ships family video access as a covered-resident feature: adult children can check in on Dad's common-area video in the consent window. Sales differentiator for occupancy + family satisfaction scores.

When a prospect brings up SafelyYou
SafelyYou's fall AI is real. 40% fewer falls and 80% fewer fall-related ER visits at adopting communities is published research, not marketing fluff. NIH grant funding confirms the science. Don't argue the safety claim — frame the comparison around scope:
"SafelyYou is the gold standard on AI fall detection — nobody disputes that, including us. The question is what else your community is buying. A community on SafelyYou still runs PointClickCare or WellSky for EVV + Medicaid billing + care plans, and a separate family-comms tool, and a separate staff scheduling app. TinyGuard is all of those in one operator dashboard, with the same kind of vision-AI for the safety layer, on a Pi that stays in your building. If your community is already paying for SafelyYou + a CMS + a family app + scheduling, the consolidated bill is the conversation. If you're greenfield and the priority is fall detection at hospital-grade accuracy on day one, SafelyYou is the safer first call."
